The state of our little union is pretty good these days. If you’ve been to a Chapter Meeting recently, you’ve probably seen several new faces as well as several recurring visitors. We’re happy to report that our membership is up, thanks to new members Mick Albro of Sterling Concrete, Roger Malbeouf of Lincoln Precision Machining Company and Julie Davenport of Cutler Associates. Recent member Jackie Baum of Lamoureux Pagano Associates has stepped up to a Director position on the Board, and taken responsibility for all that current facebook and twitter information you may have noticed recently. Our website content has been overhauled and freshened up, so check it out at csiworcester.com.
Terri Bracken, administrator for the Northeast Region and Shrewsbury resident, has taken over the day-to-day efforts for our monthly newsletter, and is always seeking content. Got a job you’re working on with some cool feature to it? Had a fight with an inspector and learned a lesson the hard way? Frustrated that the architects or contractors you work with don’t understand how to “do it right”. Take a few moments and share those experiences in a short article for the newsletter. Submit content in Word format and any photos in jpg format to neregcsi@gmail.com and get your
message out there. Articles 1-4 paragraphs in length are perfect.
Speaking of articles, we’re looking for chapter program attendees who’d be willing to write up a short paragraph or two about the program they attended, to share with the community on the website and in the newsletter. This helps membership see what they missed, and helps leadership see whether the programs we plan are valuable or interesting. This doesn’t need to be lengthy or time consuming, so if you think the program was great (or even if it was lousy) shoot your thoughts to Terri at the email address above.
Looking for networking and skill-building opportunities? Then don’t miss the Northeast Region Convention being held in Hartford CY from May 30 to June 1. The core theme for the conference will be “challenges of cold weather construction” and will provide two full days of networking, education, leadership development, and a little food and fun mixed in. The convention will be hosted at the Hilton Hartford Downtown and you can find details of the educational seminars offered and make reservations through the Region’s website at https://nercsi.com/northeast-regionconference/. Hope to see you there.
