I hate losing an hour on my weekends. But make sure you turn your clock forward on the 14th. Spring is coming and while the days would just get longer on their own, we have the mandated irrational arbitrary change to our clocks so we can pretend we can do something about how many hours there are in a day. If you ignore it, you’ll end up an hour late for our next chapter meeting on the 16th. One more time doing it virtual. If it’s anything like February it will be well attended, a great chance to connect with fellow chapter members plus you’ll pick up some learning units as well.
Now that we’re crossing the one year anniversary of things getting strange, I’m starting to wonder what normal will become. When we can travel again, will we? Since people have learned how to use zoom and work without commuting, will they get back in the office? How long until we see a sold out Boston Garden or Fenway Park? Or even our new Polar Park with the WooSox? At gatherings like our chapter meetings, when we are able to ditch the masks will we go back to shaking hands?
One thing I do know, the network of friends and colleagues I’ve built up over the years has helped to keep me sane and productive throughout the past year and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. A lot of those connections came from my participation in CSI – at the chapter, region and national levels. At least that’s one thing I don’t expect to have to change.
