Over the last several years, the energy code for both residential and commercial projects have evolved. With that evolution, it’s also become more challenging to meet. Relative to the residential energy code, navigating through this increasingly complicated document can be daunting for even the most seasoned Architect or Contractor who must design and build according to they’re requirements. Fortunately, there are entities available to the builder who can assist with the process to ensure you are headed in the right direction. Enter Michael Rossi.
Michael is an Energy Code Specialist at Performance Systems Development, where he provides energy code training and technical support to various stakeholders in Massachusetts and other states in the Northeast. Prior to joining PSD, Michael was a Senior Associate of Building Energy Codes at Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP). Michael also worked as a RESNET Certified HERS Rater in Massachusetts where he coaches builders on energy efficient design practices and enforced the Massachusetts amended 2018 IECC and Stretch Code Performance Path to Code Compliance.
This month’s presentation and interactive discussion will be about maneuvering through the residential energy code and the process involved with a successful project. Joining Michael will be Patty Sheehan, Building Inspector for the town of Shrewsbury, who will be on hand to help answer any lingering questions that attendees may have as it relates to meeting the energy code.
The program is approved by the AIA for 1 HSW continuing education credit. After participating in this program, attendees will be able to:
