DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
Join architect Stephen VanDyke for an in-depth look at the design and construction on a stunning landmark building in the center of the campus that fosters collaboration and engagement inside the various teaching spaces as well as in the landscape of this hub of activity. This one-hour educational presentation will share information about how this 100-year old college relocated to the current campus 50 years ago after a devasting hurricane destroyed much of their original West Boylston Street campus (now home to Quinsigamond Community College.) Nault has been the principal architect for Assumption College at both campuses over the past 100 years.
The Tsotsis Academic Center is filled with beautiful architectural details and a state-of-the-art concert hall with cutting edge acoustic technology – one of only two in the nation. The building also incorporates stained glass windows salvaged from the original campus. The event will include a demonstration of the acoustic abilities of Curtis Hall, construction challenges, lessons learned, and a tour of the facility.
