It’s building tour time! Take a break from power-point presentations and come check out the new South High Community School, designed by Lamoureux Pagano Associates Architects of Worcester and being built by a joint venture between Fontaine Brothers and W.T. Rich. This new 360,000 square foot building will support an educational program for 1,420 students with spaces for Chapter 74 vocational programs including a daycare, auto/diesel shop, culinary arts, as well as a new marketing/nonprofit management career pathway program, which operates Andy’s Attic, a nonprofit clothing distribution program. With a construction cost of $172M, this LEED Silver facility will replace the outdated existing South High Community School from the late 1970’s with modern teaching facilities for grades 9 – 12.
This month’s program will be presented by Peter A. Caruso, Jr., who is currently an Associate Principal who joined Lamoureux Pagano in 1998. A graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, Peter became licensed in 2010 and has been an integral part of major projects such as Worcester Technical High School, Mountview Middle School in Holden, College of the Holy Cross Contemplative Center in West Boylston, and is currently overseeing construction on the South High Community School. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and Construction Specifications Institute where he serves on the Board of Directors. Additionally, Peter is currently the Vice Chair of the Planning Board for the Town of Boylston.
The program is pending approved by AIA for 1 HSW continuing education credit. After participating in this program, attendees will be able to:
