I recently attended the Fall Board Meeting, as your Worcester Rep to the Northeast Region, in Latham NY just north of Albany. It was a quick but busy visit, which included a networking dinner, and a Dynamic Chapter Program presentation by our Marketing Admin Terri Bracken on 9/27/19, followed by an agenda packed meeting on 9/28/19. My biggest take away was the enthusiasm and idea sharing we experienced with fellow NER Chapter Members while we gathered, but it raised the question of how to keep that excitement alive once we returned to our “Home” Chapters.
As President, Marty started a movement to create Committees, which would be tasked to handle certain projects within the Region. Len has picked up the torch, and I’m happy to say we made progress choosing and staffing committees. I won’t go into extensive detail on all of them, but the one I’m most excited about is called “The Chapter Outreach Committee”. Its function will be to reach out to Chapter Reps and begin the process of sharing information pertaining to Programs, Membership, Outreach and general Hospitality. All of that will make us stronger as a Region to attract new members. “United we stand, Divided we fall”.
As the Committee develops its plan, I will keep you informed of our progress. As always, I would like to remind anyone who reads our Newsletter, Participates in Programs and wants to take the next step to become more involved in our Chapter, beyond general membership, that we have many opportunities available. There are committees to staff, events to volunteer at, and many other areas where we need your help. Feel free to contact any member of the Board for more information as well as Terri Bracken @ firstname.lastname@example.org.
