MARCH PROGRAM: cancelled…
APRIL PROGRAM: cancelled too…
MAY PROGRAM: yup, cancelled as well…
This is the part of the newsletter where we usually run the teaser for the next educational program to get you fired up over all the juicy knowledge you’ll soak up while having a cocktail with peers and trusted advisers at the Next WCCCSI chapter event. But, some guy went and ate a bat, and now we all have to distance ourselves from everything fun. But don’t despair – this too shall come to pass, and life will return to normal. The whet your appetite for continuing education, here’s what’s on the horizon:
- June 18 is our annual summer social, taking in a baseball game at Holy Cross’ Fitton Field, but we’re expanding June’s events by planning the rescheduled Building Envelope program. Learn how to properly specify and perform in-situ water testing of envelope assemblies by watching live demonstrations by Robert Gutmann of Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects.
- July 24 is our annual charity golf tournament to raise scholarship money for students affiliated with CSI.
- August 18 will be a field trip tour of the new South High School, hosted by Peter Caruso, Associate Principal at Lamoureux Pagano Associates Architects, showcasing the under-construction status of one of Worcester’s largest public schools.
- September 15 is the 6th annual Architectural Scavenger Hunt presented by Steve VanDyke of Nault Architects, Inc. Form a team and solve clues to determine locations of historical significance in the City, then race there to capture photographs. First team back with everything right wins fabulous prizes (ok, not so fabulous…).
- October 20 is the rescheduled tour of Becker College’s video game development suite, hosted by Dave Adams of Madigan Construction. Learn all the subtle nuances that go into the design and construction of this emerging trend in higher education.
- November 17 will be the rescheduled Commercial Building Code program presented by Patty Sheehan, Building Inspector for the Town of Shrewsbury. Hear first-hand from the Building Inspector, what mistakes she commonly sees in design and construction, and have a chance to ask your questions of the AHJ.
- December 11 is our annual audacious Holiday Extravaganza. Details for the entertainment are still being worked out, but work on the street is that Mark Lapomardo will be reprising his role as the loveable lush of an MC for the Yankee swap.
